World Autism Awareness Month: Hunter's story

WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) - With April being World Autism Awareness Month we asked viewers to share their stories of friends or loved ones with autism.

Brooke Weston from Georgetown, Ind., originally from West Frankfort, Ill., sent us this picture of her brother Hunter Vanwey. She said he is 10 years old and was diagnosed at the age of one with PDD-NOS.

Weston said her brother loves Thomas the Train and their mother is his number one advocate. She said her mother does this alone with the help of their grandparents.

You can submit pictures to cNews@kfvs12.com or click here to upload them. Don't forget to include your name, where you're from and a brief description of the picture. If you would like to share your story, you can submit it to aruch@kfvs12.com.
