Franklin Co. Treasurer offers tax reminder | News

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Treasurer John Gulley is reminding tax payers that the first installment of the 2010 payable 2011 real estate taxes is due Monday, July 11.

Payments will be accepted in person at the Treasurer's Office in the Franklin County Courthouse, any bank in Franklin County or by mail. You can also make payments online with a Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express.

Online payments will have a convenience fee for using credit and/or debit. The fee is charged by the payment company and not the courthouse.

If first installment payments are not made by close of business on July 11, a 1.5 percent  per month late payment penalty will be made. Banks cannot accept late payments and starting July 12 will no longer accept first installment  payments. They will collect second installment payments only.

The second installment of real estate taxes is due Thursday, September 1.
