West Frankfort woman accused of filing false claim with FEMA | News
WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS)- A West Frankfort woman
faces charges after police say she lied about being forced from her home
because of flooding.
According to the U.S. states
attorney, 32-year-old April Trexler filed a claim with the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA).
Investigators say she
claimed she had to relocate because of the flooding in the spring and summer of
A FEMA official says she
got more than $4,500 because of that false claim.
Trexler faces up to five
years in prison, and a $250,000 fine.
She'll be sentenced in March 2013.
