2 from Mulkeytown face various meth-related charges | Crime

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Two rural Christopher residents are facing meth related charges.

Brandon K. Loftis, 36, and Carrie L. Stahura, 25, of Mulkeytown were arrested and charged with meth-related crimes.

Law enforcement carried out a search warrant on Tuesday at the home of Loftis in Mulkeytown.

According to state police, officers found a substantial amount of items used in the making of methamphetamine and suspected meth.

Police say other arrests are expected as a result of the search warrant.

“This investigation is only a small part of a state, federal and local law enforcement effort aimed at combating methamphetamine related activity in Southern Illinois,” said Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations Commander, Lieutenant Stanton Diggs.

The lead agency in this incident was the  DuQuoin Office of the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force  comprised of agents from:  the Illinois State Police, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Christopher Police Department, the Sesser Police Department, and the Zeigler Police Department.

According to state police, the case will be prosecuted by Franklin County State’s Attorney Evan Owens.
