West Frankfort Community Day at Rent One Park

WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) - The West Frankfort Chamber of Commerce will host a Community Day at Rent One Park on Saturday, June 1.

The Miners will face the Frontier Guys. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the first pitch will be at 7:05 p.m.

The price for each box seat ticket is $8 and lawn seats are $4. The Chamber will receive half from the tickets sold.

Zeigler fire department to host “Heroes & Horsepower” car show

ZEIGLER, IL (KFVS) - The Zeigler Fire Department will be hosting a car show on Saturday May 18.

It is appropriately named the “Heroes & Horsepower” car show. The car show will be held on the Zeigler Circle.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., with judging to begin at noon. Trophies will be handed out at 3 p.m.

The first fifty vehicles that register for the event will receive a free dash plaque.

Judging classes will be Chevrolet, Ford, Mopar, Import, 4x4, Street Rod, Truck, Motorcycle, Emergency Service Vehicle, Chiefs Choice, and Best of Show.

Entry fee is $15 per vehicle for participants, and is free to the public.

The fire department will also be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips and drinks the day of the show.

There will also be music provided by a DJ.

Proceeds from the show are to support the ongoing Raise the Roof fund raiser series for a fire station addition.

The 5KFVS Run/Walk is coming up! It will be May 18 in downtown Cape Girardeau, Mo.

This year, to celebrate the 5th year, we're adding a 12K!
