The Night’s Shield Children’s Shelter is a private, non-profit organization that provides 24 hour emergency shelter for abused, neglected and/or abandoned children from the entire state. As a child care institution, licensed by the state of Illinois, it provides a secure, nurturing and home-like setting for the children. Funds raised from the run will benefit the children directly with activities and extra supplies that are continually needed during their stay. Being able to provide activities has shown a positive effect in mental health of our residents.

Information including registration, sponsorships, volunteer forms and as well as the shelter's current needs list can be found on The Night's Shield website at www.thenightsshield.org. You can also call 618-932-6400 for questions.
