W. Frankfort authorities investigate suspicious death

Franklin County authorities are investigating what they're calling a suspicious, possibly drug-related death.

Corner Marty Leffler confirms 35-year- old Randy Hancock was found dead in his home at 505 North Parkhill Street in West Frankfort by a family member Friday morning.

Hancock's death is considered suspicious and is being investigated by the West Frankfort Police Department, Illinois State Police crime scene investigators and the Franklin County Coroner's office.

An autopsy is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the Carmi-White County Morgue.

Leffler says authorities won't know for sure if the death was in fact drug related until the autopsy confirms it. He says toxicology reports will be available in two to four weeks.
